MINISTER'S COMMENTS

Team Isle of Man has been formed to promote the Island and its various industries, from Tourism to Trade, whilst promoting and developing the racing career of Alex Lloyd, one of the brightest young stars of tomorrow, throughout the 2004 and 2005 British Formula 3 Championship - the championship that the motor racing world looks upon as one step before the global phenomenon that is Formula 1.

Says Isle of Man Chief Minister Richard Corkill MHK: ‘Our Island has a rich motorsport heritage and I welcome the Team Isle of Man concept as a new way of flying the Manx flag internationally. The Isle of Man car should attract great interest amongst our Island community.

‘I wish Team Isle of Man great success in its endeavours and look forward to watching it grow, with the support of the Island, so that a highly talented young driver can achieve his goal to be the next resident Formula 1 driver.’
